The rules
A Pomodoro timer with a scoreboard the size of the world.
Finish 25 minutes and your country gets brighter. Everything else is on this page — including the parts we refuse to build.
- 25min
- Focus block. Fixed.
- 5min
- Break. Also fixed.
- 10/day
- Sessions that count.
01
Land
The map is the homepage. Nothing sits in front of it.
02
Start
No signup, no pop-ups. Time you put in before you sign up stays off the map.
03
Finish
One full block, or nothing. There is no partial credit for 19 minutes.
04
Claim
One click. Your pin, your country, and 25 minutes landing on the map.
Rule one
No pause. On purpose.
pomomap times the block itself rather than taking your word for it at the end, and a paused clock has no honest answer to “how long was that, really.” So there is nothing to pause. Cancel and start again — it costs you the block, never the hours already on the map.
Rule two
Country, not coordinates.
We work your country out once, when you sign up — the same rough guess any site makes to show you the right currency. You’re never asked for your location, and nothing finer than the country is kept: where you are plus a record of when you work is exactly the pair worth not having. Travel afterwards and you stay put.
Reading the map
Hue says which country. Brightness says how much.
Every country owns a fixed colour from day one. It never moves, so an empty map is still worth looking at.
One country as its hours add up. The first few show straight away, and the busiest countries never wash out everyone else. Nothing is ever dimmed to mean “empty”.
Who’s on it
Everybody gets a pin.
Zoom in and everyone putting hours into a country appears. The holder — whoever has the most — stays the biggest pin, sitting in the middle of the country. Beat them and it’s yours.
#3
Rank in country
Against everyone claiming for the same flag.
42%
Share of country
Your hours over your country’s total.
Holder
Top contributor
The one thing here worth competing for.
This is
- A 25/5 timer, usable with no account
- One world map, coloured by real hours
- One shared total for each country
- A pin drawn for you — nothing to upload
- All-time and this-week leaderboards
This isn’t
- Ads, or payments of any kind
- Notifications, including streak nagging
- Goals or daily targets to fall short of
- Friends, teams, or attacking anyone
- Profile photos, or email of any kind
That’s the whole ruleset. The map is still up for grabs.
